Tennis Playground – Holiday Villa Club Subang

    hvilla09

Got invited recently to play at this private club located at Subang Jaya, Selangor. This is a members only club & it is attached to the Holiday Villa Hotel in Subang Jaya. Club membership can be had for around RM2000 to RM3000 if you buy from members who are selling off their membership. Monthly membership fees are RM77 & members can bring in one guest for free.

There are 2 new carpet courts & 4 newly resurfaced hard court here at the time of this posting. Courts condition are great but the lighting is not so good. I would rate the courts here 8 out of 10 & probably higher if they have better night lighting. Balls & shoe insole will last longer on the carpet courts as they are softer & doesnt bite as much as hard courts. Those who are used to hard courts, you will enjoy the softness of the carpet surface but will hate the ball behaviour & bounce. Overall this club is great because of the various other facillities like gym, pool, squash, sauna, badminton, etc. There are ample parking space, the tennis courts are quiet & there are no traffic disturbance because it is elevated above the hotel building. There are very few tennis playing members here at this club so if you plan on joining, be prepared to play with the wall… LoL!

Tennis Playground – Kompleks Belia & Sukan Kg Pandan

    kgpandan02
The Kg Pandan sports complex has been established as a public sporting facility for a very long time. Located just 3 minutes away from Berjaya Time Square, this sports complex are popular among footballers & track & field athletes. There are 2 tennis courts here but you can play till 7pm only as there are no lights. I would rate the courts here 5 out of 10 as there are no lights, no center strap, court lines are faded & there are some lines drawn into the tennis courts for other sports. Aside from that, the bounce on the court is fine & its pretty much in the middle of the KL & easy to access. Rental are RM8 per hour, please contact 03-9200 7793 for bookings.

    Office hours:
    Monday to Thursday – 8.30am to 12.30pm and 2.30pm to 4.30pm

While the tennis courts may not be the best court that we have featured here on tennis.my, it is still playable as you can see from the pictures below and there are also two courts. I dont know about the night lighting condition as the photos are contributed by a resident & I haven’t play here personally. Anyway the courts here are for residents only like all condo courts so if you are in search of condos with tennis courts around this area, you can check it out.

  • Tennis Playground – Sri Penaga Condo

Tennis Playground – Sri Penaga Condo

Here’s some court pictures from Sri Penaga, one of the earliest condominium in Bukit Bandaraya, Bangsar. Situated right across the street from Bangsar Shopping Complex, this condominium is a favourite residential place among expatriates in Kuala Lumpur. The courts has been just resurfaced 2 weeks before the pictures below are taken. I was here in the morning so I dont know about the lighting condition at night but I would rate the court surface at 10 out of 10 as it is still fresh & new. My only complaint would be the rather narrow side room outside the double’s alley which would be a problem if doubles tennis are being played on the court.

  • Tennis Playground – Opal Damansara

    Tennis Playground – Opal Damansara

Had a chance to test out this court Opal Damansara at Sunway Damansara recently. This condo is located near The Club & is easily accessible via Penchala link & LDP highway. The condo is loaded with facilities like pool, badminton court & gym. According to one of the tenant that I’m with during the visit, no one really uses the court here. As you see from the pictures, the court is in good shape but I didnt test out the lightings though. I would rate the court 8/10, but it would be higher if it is not for the sun vertical direction which makes one side of the court totally impossible to play on during sunset & sunrise. Thats the first thing that you need to check whenever u build a tennis court, the sun’s direction. Tennis court aside, the condo here are beautiful, something that your would expect from a Rm600,000 to Rm700,000 semi furnished condo.

  • Tennis Playground: Goodyear Court 10, USJ

Tennis Playground: Goodyear Court 10, USJ

Here’s some pictures of a tennis playground in one of the goodyear courts in USJ, Subang which I covered recently. There are two courts here & from the pictures, you can see that the court is not at it’s best condition here. I would rate the courts here 4 out of 10 but despite the rating this place has a very active community in tennis ranging from youngsters to adults. The courts are for residents only.

A unit here would cost Rm150k upwards back in 2010 & quickly rising to the Rm300k mark this year because of the future LRT station which are being built nearby. This place neighbours many similar development including goodyear courts 1 to 9. While there are many shopping malls, higher learning institutions, restaurants & hospital within driving distance, subang is well known with it’s traffic congestion.

  • Tennis Playground – Valencia Sungai Buloh

Tennis Playground – Valencia Sungai Buloh

This is one of the nicer tennis playground in Klang Valley. Unfortunately, it is a private tennis playground for residents of Valencia, Sungai Buloh only. Valencia is one of Gamuda Land’s township developments that was launched in 2002. The township was formerly a golf course called by the same name. The concept for this development is a boutique golf residential development and features a private, residents-only, 9-hole golf course and clubhouse.

Valencia is located to the north of Kuala Lumpur, in Sungai Buloh, near the Sungai Buloh Forest Reserve and Botanical Garden. It is accessible via the Damansara-Puchong Expressway and the New Klang Valley Expressway (Sungai Buloh Exit). Valencia features a residents-only golf course, along with a clubhouse and a village square with specialty shops and services. There are 3 courts inside Valencia, all nice condition as can be seen in the pictures below. If you like golf & tennis, Valencia would be a heaven for you with it’s gated residential homes consisting of bungalows, semi-dees, garden terraces and hill court houses.

Valencia is next to Sierramas Sungai Buloh, another similar gated residential community which we will cover hopefully in the future.
