    Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 13th August 2014 – Muhammad Ashaari Zainal;Jawairiah Nordin; Vietnamese pairs Pham Huu Vinh and Le Quoc Khanh (Men’s Doubles) and Tran Tam Hoo and Huynh Khanh (Women’s Doubles); emerged as the winners of the BMW Malaysian National Circult 2014 – Leg Four (4) that ended here today.

    The five-day circuit started on 9th August 2014 at the Kompleks Tenis Jalan Duta. The winners took home a prize purse of up to RM30,000, Malaysian ranking points and eligibility to participate in the upcoming BMW Malaysian National Circuit Masters.

    The champion of the Men’s Singles, Muhammad Ashaari Zainal faced Ariez Elyaas in a heated game and saw off his opponent with a score of 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.

    “This is the fifth time playing against Ariez and he always puts up a tough match. I am really happy with my game today as this is my first time winning against Ariez”, said Muhammad Ashaari Zainal.

    “I was not confident with my game in the first set because this is my first time playing against Tran Thi Tam Hao but I managed to make a comeback in the second set”, said Jawairiah Nordin, the women’s singles champion, beating her opponent 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

    The BMW Malaysian National Circuit is a sporting initiative by BMW Group Malaysia and the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia aimed at nurturing the development of budding tennis players in the country. The tournament is open to both local and international players with128 singles players and 64 doubles teams competing in a knockout competition format.

    “The BMW Malaysian National Circuit program has been running for two consecutive years and in this time span, we have already discovered local tennis star such as Alyssa Boey and Aslina Chua who have both played at the highest levels against international players at the BMW Malaysian Open tennis competition. The BMW Malaysian National Circuit better prepares our local tennis talents for the larger tennis arena as the tournament has also gained popularity among international tennis players in the region who now come to Malaysia to compete with our local players for the prize purse of the tournament. These levels of competition help prepare our players both physically and mentally to raise their game.” said Sashi Ambi, Head of Corporate Communications, BMW Group Malaysia.

    Ambi further added that the successes achieved by the BMW Malaysian National Circuit in developing local tennis talents in country have also led to the establishment of the National Tennis Academy that is a positive step forward for the future of the sport of tennis in the country.

    YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Abdul Razak Latiff, President of the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM) said, “We have many young talented tennis players in Malaysia that need to be nurtured and developed, in order to produce more world class tennis players that can represent Malaysia in the international sports arena.     The top Malaysian players selected from all legs during the 2014 calendar year of the BMW Malaysian National Circuit will compete against each other in the round-robin Masters competition later this year to determine their selection to the Malaysian National Team for the tournaments in the following year.

    Christopher Rungkat and Elbert Sie wins the Men’s Doubles while Yus Syazlin Nabila and Nurin Nabilah wins the Women’s Doubles

    Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 10th March 2013 – Christopher Rungkat and Yus Syazlin Nabila took home the Champion title at the BMW Malaysian National Circuit Leg Two (2), today. Christopher Rungkat and Elbert Sie won the Men’s Doubles while Yus Syazlin Nabila and Nurin Nabilah for the Women’s Doubles. The BMW Malaysian National Circuit kicked off on the 6th of March at Kompleks Tenis Tun Razak, Jalan Duta.

    In the Leg Two of the BMW Malaysian National Circuit, 23-year-old Christopher Rungkat from Indonesia took the champion title for the Men’s Singles coming through 6-2, 6-2 while 15-year-old home-grown, Yus Syazlin Nabila won the Women’s Singles title with an impressive 6-4, 6-2.

    The winners walked away with a prize purse of RM30,000  and will stand a chance to be selected for the Malaysian National Squad. Winners will also be joining leg one (1) champions, Austin Karosi and Theiviya Selvarajoo in the BMW Malaysian National Circuit Masters, a championship for the winners from all four legs.

    The BMW Malaysian National Circuit 2013 consist of four legs, structured as an Open competition, and will see 128 singles and 64 teams for the doubles. Players aged 15 and above are eligible to participate in the knockout competition with a prize purse of RM30,000 per leg to be won.

    The BMW Malaysian National Circuit is an extension of BMW Group Malaysia’s initiative to groom local tennis stars to represent the nation in the international arena. The competition sees both Malaysian men and women from around the nation face off to win a spot the BMW Malaysian National Circuit Masters.

    BMW has a long-standing history in the sport of tennis around the world. In Malaysia, BMW is the title sponsor of the leading ladies professional tennis event in the country, the BMW Malaysian Open, a tournament sanctioned by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). Through the BMW Malaysian National Circuit, BMW Group Malaysia continues to drive growth of the game at a local level.
