Tennis Playground – Holiday Villa Club Subang

Got invited recently to play at this private club located at Subang Jaya, Selangor. This is a members only club & it is attached to the Holiday Villa Hotel in Subang Jaya. Club membership can be had for around RM2000 to RM3000 if you buy from members who are selling off their membership. Monthly membership fees are RM77 & members can bring in one guest for free.

There are 2 new carpet courts & 4 newly resurfaced hard court here at the time of this posting. Courts condition are great but the lighting is not so good. I would rate the courts here 8 out of 10 & probably higher if they have better night lighting. Balls & shoe insole will last longer on the carpet courts as they are softer & doesnt bite as much as hard courts. Those who are used to hard courts, you will enjoy the softness of the carpet surface but will hate the ball behaviour & bounce. Overall this club is great because of the various other facillities like gym, pool, squash, sauna, badminton, etc. There are ample parking space, the tennis courts are quiet & there are no traffic disturbance because it is elevated above the hotel building. There are very few tennis playing members here at this club so if you plan on joining, be prepared to play with the wall… LoL!

BMW Group Malaysia presents the BMW Malaysian Open 2014 in April.

Defending Champion Karolina Pliskova as well as 2012 BMW Malaysian Open Champion Hsieh Su Wei confirms participation in the fourth edition of the most premium women’s tennis tournament in the country.

The BMW Malaysian Open 2014 returns to the Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) from the 14th – 20th of April 2014.

BMW Group Malaysia today announced that the fourth edition of the prestigious women’s tennis tournament will see a stunning field of players including the return of last year’s defending champion Czech Republic’s Karolina Pliskova as well as 2013 Wimbledon Doubles Champion and 2012 BMW Malaysian Open Champion, Hsieh Su Wei.

“BMW Group Malaysia is once again pleased to present the BMW Malaysian Open, the most prestigious tennis event in the country and a critical event in the calendar of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour, the largest sporting event for women in the world. The sporting event underlines our commitment in Malaysia to the sport of tennis which we support from the grassroots level with the BMW Malaysian National Circuit to the pinnacle of competitions in the form of the BMW Malaysian Open tournament.” said Dr. Gerhard Pils, Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group Malaysia.

Dr. Pils added that while the BMW Malaysian National Circuit plays the role of selecting and developing young Malaysian Tennis talents to represent the country at the world stage, the BMW Malaysian Open provides a platform for these talents to raise their game by inviting world tennis stars to the country to compete, host clinics as well as provide an avenue for local talents to learn from the best in game.

“With the participation of a great selection of top ranking WTA players, we know that this year’s tournament is going to be spectacular, raising the benchmark once again to this prestigious tennis event in the region. Stay tuned as we have more player names to be revealed in the coming weeks!” said Dr. Pils.

YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Abdul Razak Latiff, President of the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM) said, “We are once again pleased to be part of the most prestigious women’s tennis tournament in Malaysia. BMW Group Malaysia has never ceased to provide the right opportunities for our very talented local players to grow in the international sporting scene. I believe, with the continuation of the BMW Malaysian Open, we will be able to progress the growth of tennis in the country.”

The tournament will once again see 32 players from the WTA, the world’s leading women’s tennis tour, compete for the singles title, world ranking points and an increased prize purse of USD250,000. The leading tennis competition for women will also feature 16 teams for the doubles title. Similarly to its previous editions, the tournament will place local talents through wild card entries.

The BMW Malaysian Open will be held at the Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) from 14th to 20th April 2014. The tournament is promoted and organized by Carbon Worldwide Sdn Bhd with BMW Malaysia as the title sponsor and sanctioned by the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM). • Nadal-Djokovic Resumes Storied Rivalry at the 2013 US Open

Nadal-Djokovic Resumes Storied Rivalry at the 2013 US Open

    Nadal-v-Djokovic2

Tennis fans who enjoy online gambling will once again be turning their eyes towards the titanic rivalry which continues between two great players of the modern era. Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are two giants of tennis, and their head-to head rivalry in recent years has been identified by many pundits as perhaps the sport’s greatest epic duel of all time.

The statistics would certainly seem to back that assertion up. Anyone scanning Bodog sports betting websites in search of good tennis odds should know that the two men have played 36 times, with Nadal claiming 21 victories to Djokovic’s 15. Nadal also has the lead when it comes to overall Grand Slam matches, having won seven times to his rival’s three in such encounters.

From that, it would seem that the Spaniard has the edge over his Serbian rival, but statistics never tell the full story. In terms of wins in Grand Slam finals, Djokovic actually has the edge, leading 3-2. In all finals, the tally is tied at 8-8, while in ATP Masters Series/ATP World Tour Masters 1000 matches the Serb again has the edge, leading 11-9. The score in Masters finals is again tied, at 5-5.

But raw statistics can only ever give a dry and emotionless assessment of these two great players. The numbers can communicate none of the gladiatorial drama of some of the contests between the muscular Spaniard and the tall Serb. This rivalry has been played out across all four Gland Slam finals, as well as record 19 Masters Series matches. The 2010 Australian Open final between the two is widely regarded as the finest final ever played.

But the rivalry does not just exist in the recent past, it is very much ongoing, as events this year have shown. Although Nadal has seen his progress in recent years held up by injury, he was very much back to his best on clay in Paris. The 2013 French Open saw an epic semi-final between the two, possibly the most compelling clay court contest ever, with Nadal triumphing over five sets. The last set was won 9-7 by the Spaniard, with the match having taken four hours and 47 minutes to complete. Any sportsbook fan will find the two hard to separate in New York too.

Tennis fans using the Bodog88.com sportsbook betting platform may therefore think that there is little point looking beyond Nadal and Djokovic for the US Open title in 2013. But that might be a little short-sighted, and sportsbook betting devotees may want to look elsewhere for value too.

The quality of the tennis that Nadal and Djokovic can provide is not in doubt, but their continuing reigns as the top players in the sport might be. Andy Murray, the Scot from Dunblane, has shown over the last 12 months that he is capable of perhaps making a triangle out of the rivalry at the top of tennis.

The Scotsman enjoyed a wonderful 2012, winning an Olympic Gold Medal in London, and winning his first Grand Slam in New York. He has built on that in 2013, taking his first Wimbledon crown, and becoming the first Briton to do so since Fred Perry some 77 years before. He will be keen to defend his title in New York, and it is to him that both Nadal and Djokovic must look for their main threat. Sportsbook betting fans may well find some good value in the performances of the Scot, whose return of serve is especially potent.

The best sportsbook gamblers always keep their options open, but it is hard to look beyond the Nadal and Djokovic, and maybe Murray, to claim the US Open crown this year. The best online gambling sites do not tend to allow punters to hedge their bets, though, so at some point anyone using Bodog Malaysia, or other sites, will have to choose.

While Nadal’s power and strength have often carried him through epic encounters, his recent injury history suggests that there might well be a physical weakness in his make-up now. Djokovic, in contrast, is a mightily impressive physical specimen these days, who seems to feed on adversity. Murray, too, is much fitter and stronger than he used to be. In the end, fitness may well decide who emerges as champion in New York.

While the tennis courts may not be the best court that we have featured here on tennis.my, it is still playable as you can see from the pictures below and there are also two courts. I dont know about the night lighting condition as the photos are contributed by a resident & I haven’t play here personally. Anyway the courts here are for residents only like all condo courts so if you are in search of condos with tennis courts around this area, you can check it out.
