Since you are a fast learner, try taking some coaching lessons. U'll pick up the proper&correct technique much faster. Many self-taught beginners learn how to hit rather quickly, but not necessarily the correct way. That impedes further progression in your game level later. Coaching will sort this out. It will also give you much more repetitions than stroking/ playing with a friend, something which u need (always) esp. at a beginner level.
Many beginners/intermediates don't realize that the money they used to buy the latest player's racquet, will have more positive impact on their game if they have spend it on good coaching lessons.
Just my 2 cents of worth of advice.
