Tennis Playground – National Tennis Centre, Jalan Duta
It has been a long time since I wanted to post information about this supposedly national tennis playground of Kuala Lumpur or Malaysia? I can’t find any information about it on the net & it was very sad. Well people, here you go… The National Tennis Centre at Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur & it is open for public rental if you dont already know.
Directions: This place is located at Jalan Duta, along the Duta Bus Station (Hentian Duta) & the National Hockey Stadium. If you are coming from Jalan Kuching from Kuala Lumpur, take the left exit that says ‘Jalan Duta’ & drive towards left up the ramp & take the first left after that, the entrance to this place is immediately on your right. I think the google map above would be a great guide for all you non locals.
Rates: The booking office is open till 7pm everyday & you need to go directly there to book the courts.
Outdoor courts : Rm6.00/hour for daytime & Rm12.00/hour for night
Indoor courts : Rm12.00/hour for daytime & Rm24.00/hour for night
Courts: There are 13 outdoor courts & 2 indoor courts & most of the court materials are made from Rebound Ace, same brand they used in the Australian Open Grand Slams. The best courts are the 4 courts nearest to the booking office. You can walk around the whole centre to checkout the courts first before you book. Most of the courts have proper drainage system & they’re pretty flat & can dry quick after rain.
Facilities: There is a small tennis shop, a cafeteria, a player’s rest area & ample shower rooms & toilets around
Ratings: I would rate this place 10/10 if it wasnt for the troublesome booking rules that doesnt allow phone bookings, so I would rate this place 8/10

hi
it’s great what you are doing here.
it would be more convenient to tennis players as some of us do not know where’s the nearest tennis court is , the rate they charge etc.
hope can cover more courts in the future
keep it up !
I’d like to add my endorsement to the Duta courts. In my opinion, these courts are the best maintained public courts available here in KL (or anywhere else in Malaysia). The surface is a joy to play on and the ground is softer on the feet compared to the other hard courts that are available. And the best part is that it’s cheap to rent. This is the ‘grand slam’ center for KL and the facilities that are available are basic but adequate.
On the booking part, i’m unsure if this is a brand new ruling, but we are able to call and book. But we do need to pay at the counter, though i believe this can be done on the day itself. just let them know this and i think you should be ok.
but take note, its not that easy to book as many coaches use those courts and there are lots of regulars that do a block booking. So you will need to book in advance (maybe a week or two).
or you can try the other courts (next to the bus station), it is run by V Selvam and is separate to the KSN courts. You can call to book and i believe they allow play till midnite daily. their number: 03-620 33 620.
You should definitely try these courts if you havent already! highly rated!
you da man z

Greetings! I’m new to KL and would also like to add my name to a list of people looking for a hitting partner. I’m an intermediate player (3.0 level) and prefer singles. I’m competitive, but also like the fun and exercise associated with tennis. I’m available almost every evening and the tennis center looks like a great place to meet. Please contact me sea_film@yahoo.com. Thanks. -Paul

Hi, I am looking for a group of tennis players. I am 49 this year. And I have been tennis for almost 20 years now. Have to look for another group cause 3 regulars have since …two migrated and one is always busy now. Thanks
