It has been a long time since I wanted to post information about this supposedly national tennis playground of Kuala Lumpur or Malaysia? I can’t find any information about it on the net & it was very sad. Well people, here you go… The National Tennis Centre at Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur & it is open for public rental if you dont already know. Directions: This place is located at Jalan Duta, along the Duta Bus Station (Hentian Duta) & the National Hockey Stadium. If you are coming from Jalan Kuching from Kuala Lumpur, take the left exit that says ‘Jalan Duta’ & drive towards left up the ramp & take the first left after that, the entrance to this place is immediately on your right. Click for the google map. Rates: The booking office is open till 7pm everyday & you need to go directly there to book the courts. Outdoor courts : Rm6.00/hour for daytime & Rm12.00/hour for night Indoor courts : Rm12.00/hour for daytime & Rm24.00/hour for night Courts: There are 13 outdoor courts & 2 indoor courts & most of the court materials are made from Rebound Ace, same brand they used in the Australian Open Grand Slams. The best courts are the 4 courts nearest to the booking office. You can walk around the whole centre to checkout the courts first before you book. Most of the courts have proper drainage system & they’re pretty flat & can dry quick after rain. Facilities: There is a small tennis shop, a cafeteria, a player’s rest area & ample shower rooms & toilets around Ratings: I would rate this place 10/10 if it wasnt for the troublesome booking rules that doesnt allow phone bookings, so I would rate this place 8/10 |

Poo: Chicks these days dun exercise much. If they do, you'll find them in gym clubs doing yoga/ pilates. I think you can find more female joggers than female tennis players! Such is the sad state of the game for our fairer skin counterparts. Many of those who used to play during schooling days end up giving up the game due to work/family commitments. This is compounded by scarcity of tennis courts, unpredictability of weather and troublesome tennis court booking procedures. (Don't undersstand why in this age and time online booking is still not up and running.....what a shame and disgust!). * This is the personal opinion of the writer. If possible maybe we need to build more indoor courts so the lady won't get dark easily. Then they might consider to take up tennis as a sport, the problem rite now we r lack of tennis courts facilities in M'sia & also don put important into the game

Most schools esp in the city area don't even have tennis courts. Most parents would like their child to pick up a sports that will see them earn some points in their Extra Curricular Activities, ECA. Coupled with not-so-cheap coaching fees of abt RM50/hr. Tennis will soon join the ranks of hockey and squash. |
