Hey All. Firstly, my name is Ali and as all you regulars may notice, i'm new here. Greetings and salutations to all here. :)

I'm organizing a local tennis tournament meant for the weekend warriors. Below are the details:

Dates: 22 & 23 May 2010
Time: 8:00am to 10:00pm
Venue: Kompleks Sukan Negara Tenis Jalan Duta
Events: Men’s Singles & Men’s Doubles
Official Ball: Wilson US Open
Entrance Fee: RM 70 per player/team

Format of the tournament is a little different as there will be a group stage followed by a knockout stage. Both singles and doubles players will be guaranteed to play a minimum of 3 matches. If they do well, they will qualify for the knockout stages.

hey poo... to answer your question, yes it's open to all, but only to the social/club players. I wish to include current state or national players, but not in this particular tournament. My fear is that it will drive away all the social players from joining. i mean, they'll have no chance in winning...

but if you were a former national or state player, than you are more than welcome to participate. i'm assuming because the player is a former national player, hopefully stamina and speed not at what is used to be, so got very small chance to win, then ok! :)

i'm afraid it's also no to having 1 current state/national player in a doubles team. i think this will also be unfair to the rest. on average, if you check our website, the avg level of play for the players competiting is between 3.5 to 4.0 (NTRP).

sorry for the lenghty reply bro poo... but i hope this clears it up. :)

btw, are you a current national or state player??

Last time i used to play Inter Teams in Kelana Jaya,the format is every weekend must come & play until who finished the cycle who got the most points shall enter final. :D
Got 2 divisions 1 & 2,the good 1 play in the div 1 & lousy wan play div 2 should i see the game should be quite fair rite :p
Maybe u can held in Kelana Jaya i will tell my members to take part.
Duta is a bit too far :ymsigh:

we tried to get the courts at KJ, but very susah to book lah... it was my first preference, but wat to do. maybe i don know anyone in mbpj tats why susah. ;)

aiyaa... duta not that far wat. some more have to drive early morning, so sure no jam wan. and its just for two days. and the courts there are very well maintained. :)

think about it, and appreciate if you could let your members know about this and lend us your support.

btw, wat happened to the league? still on going?

Why not u organize those inter team tennis only for amateur,see the response good or not :p
Without any state player or ex-national baru got chance can go far :-?

this tournament is for amateur waat.. but individual la, not teams. i do want to organize that too, but must first find all the tennis kakis, then get them together, then can hold big inter team tournament. :D

but support this first one la... don worry la, got chance to get to knockout rounds. most of the players are all social players only. or why not join the doubles? doubles is just a one day event... same format, guaranteed to play 3 matches.
