The eagerly-awaited Barclays ATP World Tour Finals begin Sunday 22nd November at The O2 in south-east London. Here’s some match info & scenarios on how Nadal can overtake Federer’s number one spot in this Final: 1. Format: Round Robin. Group A: Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Fernando Verdasco, Juan Martin del Potro Group B: Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Nikolay Davydenko, Robin Soderling 2. Here are the key scenarios in the battle for the 2009 ATP World Tour Champion title: I. If Nadal is an undefeated champion at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals (winning all-three round-robin matches, a semi-final and final) he will earn the maximum 1,500 points. If that happens, Federer would need to either win all three round-robin matches OR reach the final to beat out Nadal for the 2009 ATP World Tour Champion title. II. If Nadal goes 2-1 in round-robin play and wins the title he will earn 1,300 points. If that happens, Federer would need to either win two round-robin matches OR win one round-robin match and reach the final to beat out Nadal for the 2009 ATP World Tour Champion title. III. If Nadal goes 3-0 in round-robin play, wins his semi-final but loses the final he will earn 1,000 points. woke up this morning to watch the verdasco v federer, sad to see verdasco go down ... was playing so well in the 1st and 2nd set up to the end of the 2nd set then everything crumbled.. he needs to get the confidence to beat top 10 players man.. think he got the talents but needs more mental power to help him thru.. |

with the way Federer played his 1st match,i feel his coming matches against Murray n Delpo will be tough,neither of them will grant him the opportunity to claw his way back in a 3 set match

Nadal lost in straight 2 sets, but nevertheless he put up a great fight.. Hopefully he'll do better in his next few rounds. |
